Evidence of Human Activity in Northern Siberia 45,000 years ago.
by fulltimestudent inthis information makes the biblical dating of human origins a sad joke.
quote: " when they dated the remains, the researchers got another surprise: the mammoth died 45,000 years ago.
that means that humans lived in the arctic more than 10,000 years earlier than scientists believed, according to a new study.

Yes I read this earlier today. This throws out all of the JW chronological figures. -

Sick! "Stoning of Two Transgenders in Dortmund, Germany Prevented By Police In The Last Minute."
by park ave boy inthis is what europe is becoming?
my work colleague in germany sent my this article in an email and it is perhaps one of the most disturbing things i have heard yet.
i have been hearing about many of these recent homophobic and transphobic hate crimes taking place across europe but this one slipped through the cracks.

I have said this before and I know it is not a popular statement but certain religious groups/ideologies will not mix with our western values. They come from countries with no freedom or democracy and don't or won't understand what our fathers and grandfathers fought and died for in two world wars. They will not assimilate into our society and the reality is their ultimate goal is to convert all of us over to their cult thinking. -

These guys hate the Witnesses, cult against a cult.
by oppostate injust watched a video of a helicopter landing on the universal church's sao paolo's temple of solomon.
they loaded up several suitcases full of money, so heavy it was hard for a single guy to pick up.
they preach a form of prosperity worship.. one interesting point i found in wikipedia about the uckg (universal church of the kingrom of god) while learning about them is that they hate the jw's nwt bible and preach against it, calling the new king james bible "the best we've found", even better than the authorized version (the old king james bible).

I think as long as man is on this earth there will always be cults and those few that are attracted to cults. . -

United States baptism stats 1969-2015
by the comet inwhenever the new yearbooks come out, we all look at the figures and see the publisher increase never really matches up with the baptism figures.
it never should match up as all newly baptized ones are already publishers, and may have been for many years.
i, as an example, became an unbaptized publisher at age 11. i didn't get baptized until i was 17. .

The figures you give is not good for the dubs. You would think that as more and more publishers that number of baptized should go up every year but the number stays about the same. That indicates that a lot of ones that have being raised as a dub are fading and/or not getting baptized. This is not a good sign for the Borg. -

Thanks Scully for your information. I also set up my PVR to record it when it comes back on. I figure that because it was just aired it might be a few months before they re-air that episode. I posted about a year ago about the other JW case on Deadly devotion. This was the case where the husband killed his wife and two children in the late 80's in Vancouver, Canada. He was an abusive controlling husband but she was told to go back to him by the elders. She eventually moved out on her own but was stocked by him and eventually killed. Her ex husband, the children's father, was DF'd by the Borg. Well understandably he has no use for the organization. -

Counsel from Bro Losch (GB Member) to the Elders about the NFL
by James Jack inwhile attending a week long training class for elders in patterson, bro losch gave the concluding talk about loyalty to the borg, which i was in awe of(i went more in detail in a recent post about a s.a.d.
where losch was the speaker).
at the end of his talk, here's what he said: .

This is nothing new I recall some elders being against any type of professional sporting activity but it was just a few of the old elders that probably never played a sport in their lives.

S.A.D. Observations from the assembly.
by Darkknight757 inso we had brother losch visiting our special assembly day which was weird in itself.
he's not a very good speaker and seemed like he was in dire need of a nap or something.. anyways just a few observations from the assembly program.
theme: imitate their faith.

Next was the accounts. As was mentioned again on this board, $8000 were sent to the society prior to the convention leaving only $500 in the account. But expenses for this one day were almost $24,000 so the deficit at lunch ($7500) would not have been there if they didn't send all the money to the society.
Typical it makes me sick. Then they end up begging for more money to balance their books. I wonder sometimes if their figures are fudged a bit just to get the contributions up?

My mom-in-law, in her late 70's, gave a lifetime of JW worship. Now with all the changes being made, she has expressed shock at the way things are going. My son is currently visiting her and she guilted him into going to the Sunday meeting. The public talk was all about how other religions use Tele-Evanglism or beg for money and how wrong that is and how the Borg has never used that. When she learned of all the changes she was very bewildered and bothered. Another old sister, in her 90's, was upset at the new Tele-Evanglism system. It is upsetting the older ones, they remember the Watchtower and Awake article deriding the things the Borg is now doing and are hurt and perplexed by it all.
I do not think the borg cares about anyone older than 70 as they know they won't be here much longer and to keep the money coming in they have to attract more younger people. I haven't been to a meeting in over 15 years but what I read on here is the WT have changed a lot in the last few years. So much so that anyone that hasn't been around it for a while would be shocked to see what the organization has become.

She said, “The Organization doesn’t deserve my money anymore.” She told all the sisters that they should think about doing that because the Watchtower promised that we wouldn’t get old and they lied and have changed the idea to overlapping generations.
I came to the conclusion the WT lied to us 40 years ago. I think even my elderly mother before she died knew that but would never say it.
